Traveling Through Books

My students need different versions of fairy tales, folktales, and fables to help them travel the world through the magic of stories.

My Students

As a school with high levels of poverty it is important to level the playing field so that all students are given the same chances to excel and shine. My task is not only to be a teacher, but a facilitator to show these wonderful students just how much potential they have and to help them achieve it.

My students love to get sucked into an incredible book.

My goal is to have as many books available to them as possible to promote that love!

My Project

Different versions of fairy tales, folktales, and fables can take students around the world without ever leaving their classroom. These types of stories help teach students reading skills and also life skills through the morals and lessons to be gained from each of the stories.

Having a wide variety of books available for the students helps insure that they will all find the perfect book for them.

The variety will also open their minds to types of books they would not have noticed before. I want them to be open to all genres and types of books that are around them.
